Graphical Login to Brazos
X2Go Remote Desktop
A desktop environment on the Brazos cluster is available using X2Go. Currently either a GNOME2 desktop can be accessed remotely or individual applications.
First you must download and install the X2Go Client. Once installed access to the Brazos cluster using X2Go is done by connecting to gfx.brazos.tamu.edu. The login credentials are the same as logging in via SSH.
Once connected if you chose the GNOME Session Type you will be presented with a GNOME 2 desktop like the image below.
X2Go Published Applications
You may also launch individual applications using X2Go by changing the session type to Published Applications. Below are images that show launching the gedit application. Red boxes have been added to highlight where in the interface to choose various options for each example. The green boxes are where your username would appear.
